CHJC Privacy Policy

Updated 12/10/19

CHJC believes in protecting the integrity of personal information gathered from our supporters and contacts through all of our communication channels, including visitors to our websites. We have created this Privacy Policy to communicate our practices regarding the collection and dissemination of the personal information of anyone providing us with information about themselves. This applies to personal information gathered online, at CHJC events, speaking engagements and volunteer activities, or provided through social media channels. Personal information is any information that might identify someone, such as a name, postal address, telephone number(s), or email address (referred to in this policy as “personal information”). This policy also applies to certain information that does not personally identify someone but is collected from visitors to our web pages.

By visiting the CHJC website, you accept the practices described in this policy.

Data Collection

CHJC’s website offers online access to events, the ability to sign up for email and other communications, and opportunities to make a financial gift, apply for employment, and volunteer. Unless you provide the information to us voluntarily and knowingly, CHJC will not collect personal information from you when you visit our website.

When you submit information to CHJC, we will use that information for the purposes for which it was provided. We may also contact you through various channels about other CHJC activities and/or giving opportunities (such as email, social media, direct mail) or to contact you offline.

CHJC uses third party vendors to provide services on our websites and for some administrative and marketing operations. The information you submit on this site may be provided to those vendors on a confidential basis so they can provide services on our behalf (such as data storage and maintenance or processing credit card transactions). CHJC also reserves the right to share information with legal authorities in response to a legal order or official request.

The CHJC website may gather information about usage patterns and non-identifying information on visitors to the site including technology such as “cookies” (small files temporarily stored on your computer) used to enhance visitors’ online experience and gather aggregate data about website use.

Cookies and other similar technologies collect non-personal information about the user of a particular Internet Protocol (IP) address. If you do not want information collected through the use of cookies, most browsers contain features to block them. (If you block cookies, however, you may lose some website functionality.)

Access to Site; Indemnification

You agree to protect the confidentiality of your user ID and password, and not share or disclose your user ID or password to any third party. You agree you are fully responsible for all activity occurring under your user ID. Your access to the Site may be revoked by CHJC at any time, with or without cause. You agree to defend, indemnify and hold CHJC harmless from and against all third party claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) against or incurred by CHJC arising out of your use or access of the Site, or access by anyone accessing the Site using your user ID and password.
