DESCRIPTION:    \n\n\nCHJC’s Fostering Futures Program is hosting a 5K Color Fun Walk/Run!\n\n\n\nSaturday\, September 9\, 2023\, at the Remington Recreational Trail in Canton.\n\n\n\nRegistration starts at 8:00 am\, and the walk/run starts at 9:00 am!\n\n\n\nThe registration fee is $25/participant!\n\n\n\nAnyone with an interest in learning more about Kinship Care or with a desire to support Kinship Caregivers and this movement are welcome and encouraged to attend! This event is an opportunity to bring awareness to our community and learn how each one of us can positively impact and support a loved one in need. Fostering Futures Program staff will be on-site to answer any questions you may have. Come out and support a great cause for so many youths in need. DESCRIPTION:CHJC’s Community Clinic of Jefferson County (CCJC) will be offering a new group geared toward men who are aged 18 and older. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in a therapeutic group setting where masculinity can be explored while getting support from peers. If you are a client of the Community Clinic of Jefferson\, you may be eligible to participate and are encouraged to get a referral from your clinician. \nTopics that will be explored include:\n➡What makes a person a man?\n➡Masculinity in relationships\n➡Rigid boundaries\n➡Emotionally distancing\n➡Fatherhood\n➡Types of parenting styles\n➡How Fatherhood is important for child development\n➡Coping skills\n➡Brainstorming masculine interests\, and how they can be used as a coping skill.\n➡Masculinity expectations in society and the media \nGroups are excellent opportunities for clients to get supplemental therapy\, challenge behaviors\, and create unity. If you are interested in joining or learning more\, please call 315-782-7445. \nGroups will meet each Thursday\, beginning September 21\, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm\, at CHJC’s Community Clinic of Jefferson County (CCJC)\, at 211 JB Wise Place in Watertown.
